In this project, we were assigned to design a watchtower for either a ranger or a coastguard. After a visit to the site which is Pantai Kerachut in Penang, a site analysis was conducted. And along with the informations gathered, a precedent study was made. Apart from that, we also have to collect photographs for inspirations for the design. The first task under this project was to conceptualize the inspirational photographs into three-dimensional models to develop the design. Below are the conceptual models:
Based on the conceptual models, we have to develop a design. And in a pair, we decided to design a watchtower for the ranger. By combining the ideas from both members, the idea was translated to the design together with precedent studies of a watchtower. The final product is a 1:50 scale model with detailed drawings.
